Intellectual property of the photographs exhibited on this website

The photographs published here, and taken by students participating in the exhibition, are freely viewable, downloadable, sharable and reusable, within the limits of a Creative Commons CC BY-NC-SA (Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International) licence. Each author retains all his economic rights in relation to any possible commercial use of a photograph he has taken, and of course his moral right to always be acknowledged as the author of that photograph.

Fundación Mainel is committed to guaranteeing the privacy of all its users. This policy applies to all pages under the domain https://photodebates.net/, but does not apply to the pages of other organisations or companies. Although we include links to these websites, their privacy policies may be different.

What regulations do we apply to ensure data privacy?

Fundación Mainel follows the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data; as well as the provisions of the Organic Law 3/2018 of 5 December on the Protection of Personal Data and guarantee of digital rights.

What kind of information do we collect and store?

The type and amount of information we receive and store depends on how you use the website. You can access all of our pages without telling us who you are or revealing any personal information. Our web servers collect anonymous logs during users’ visits to the website. This information is used to create aggregate statistics, for example, about when our website is accessed, the pages that send visitors to our site, the type of browsers visitors use and which pages they view. These statistics help us to understand how our site is used and give us valuable data to improve our site in the future. Both our own and third party cookies are used to collect this information. We do not collect personally identifiable information (such as name, address, telephone number or email address) on our website unless you choose to provide it, for example, when contacting us, or when registering your school to participate in the PhotoDebates exhibition. This personal data is always kept confidential and is stored securely only for as long as it is necessary for the purpose for which it was provided.

What personal data do we process?

The data that we will process for the legitimate purposes explained below are as follows.

If you have voluntarily provided us this information in the course of previous dealings, we may also have the following data at our disposal:

  • Age

We also inform you that we will process any additional data that you voluntarily provide us during future relations and interactions with Fundación Mainel.

What do we process your personal data for?

The sole purpose of this website is to host an online exhibition of photographs taken by European students and to offer them as material for school reflection and debate on topics such as social justice or human rights. The first edition of the exhibition will open on 1 April 2023 and will be available for viewing online for at least 5 years.

The photographs will be deposited on this website only by teachers from the schools of the participating students. The teachers will provide a few personal data of their own, for the management of their profiles as users of the website, and a minimum of data about the students who are the authors of the photographs proposed for the exhibition. Teachers’ data will not be displayed publicly on the website in any form. The personal data of the students will only be shown in a minimal way: name (without surname) or pseudonym, age, school and country. In this way, the privacy of all participants will be protected.

In addition, in order to fulfil the social and cultural mission of Fundación Mainel, we process the data of our members, donors and friends for the following purposes:

  • Send information about Fundación Mainel and its activities.
  • Invite to acts or events organised by Fundación Mainel.
  • Send information or documents related to your donations and fees.
  • Carry out basic profiling activities, based on the information you have provided us, and aimed at ensuring the proper management of the above activities.
 

In what situations may we disclose your data to third parties?

Your data may be disclosed to the following recipients, for the reasons explained below:

  • Public Administrations. In order to comply with the legal obligations to which Fundación Mainel is subject due to its activity.
  • E-mail service providers. Fundación Mainel contracts the service of third parties exclusively for the automated sending of its electronic newsletters. This provider subscribes with the Foundation the confidentiality and data treatment contracts required by the European data protection regulations, applying the necessary guarantees and safeguards to preserve your privacy. How long will we keep your data?

Your personal data will be kept as long as your relationship with the Fundación Mainel is maintained and, after the termination of this relationship for any reason, during the legal limitation periods that apply. In this case, they will be treated for the sole purpose of proving compliance with our legal or contractual obligations. At the end of these limitation periods, your data will be deleted.

What are your rights?

You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, deletion and portability, limitation and/or opposition to the processing, through the postal and e-mail addresses indicated, to the attention of TRATAMIENTO DE DATOS PERSONALES.
